Receiving visitors from abroad

If you have visitors from abroad, you may have to ask for a guarantee or a private accommodation. Your visit needs this when applying for a visa.

With a guarantee you make sure that your guest does not get into trouble if he or she can not pay (anymore) the cost of a stay in the Netherlands. For example, because your guest can not afford more money. You will then be responsible for the costs of your guest.

Does your visit stay in your house? Then you need a private accommodation provision. This guarantee applies for a stay of up to 3 months in the Netherlands.

You apply for a guarantee at the website of the IND. Fill in the form and bring the form with you to the Stadswinkel (make an appointment first). If you have a partner, then you have to sign the guarantee together.

Conditions

• Your visit comes for a short stay, which means no longer than 3 months
• Your visit has to apply for a visa

The costs are €10,80 (rates 2023). You can pay at the Stadswinkel.
